What’s the purpose of love, of loving someone? What’s the purpose of loving someone?

To be loved in return? No.

To love them in such a way where the only purpose is no conditions, expecting nothing, putting them under no obligation, making no claims on them.

To love them in that special way.

The only purpose is to make it safe enough for them to open their hearts to start feeling the love in their own hearts.

That’s the only purpose.

And to do the best you can to start opening your own heart and to start feeling the love in your own heart.

And that is the ultimate healing. It is when you start being able to open your heart.

Lots of people take a long time to reach this point where you start dropping the barriers, the protection and you start feeling that love in your heart.

You realize “Why did I take so long to reach this point? Because this feels so much better.”

And if they try to hurt you, if they try to criticize you, to continue loving them. It just feels so much better.
